St Joseph's Charlestown Basketball Team Photo Shoot
St Joseph’s Secondary School, Charlestown U19 All Ireland Champions
Sport is at the heart of Charlestown, and there’s often a sporting celebration in this Mayo town. St Joseph’s Secondary School has fielded some impressive basketball teams over the years, and 2017 was a landmark year when the Under 19 Girls team achieved the Basketball Ireland Double.
We were delighted to welcome the team to our Charlestown studio to mark the occasion with a team photo shoot. It’s not every day we get a whole sports team in, but we’ve always planned for large families and large groups here in our Mayo photo studio!
The girls’ achievement in 2017 was exceptional – the U19 Schools’ All Ireland League Champions and the U19 Schools’ All Ireland Cup Champions all in one year is no small achievement. And, as ever, when we’ve met so many of the team before at family shoots, special occasions and more, it is very special to welcome them back for a celebration like this.
A Fun, Natural Photo Shoot
For their photo shoot, we shot some traditional team images that would be an important memento for the team of their wins. We then spent some time on more relaxed, fun imagery that really shows the personalities, the fun and the camaraderie that made this team such a winning operation.
To end their year on a high, the team also won a very impressive Mayo Sports Team of the Year award. Having some quality team imagery worked well for this, as their image was carried in most of the local papers, giving the girls even more publicity for their exceptional achievement. I’m pretty sure most of the team have one of these images hanging at home too!
